Five-Hundred Word Challenge 685: The Craunch

Loud and with a crunch all is trampled underfoot. Perhaps it would be better to say that there was the process of craunching underway. It doesn’t matter too much, however, as this was merely one action of a series of actions. Those that proceeded this one were significantly longer and much more important. They were more thought out and needed that thinking in order to actually work as otherwise there could have been a series of grave errors and no one wants to make a series of mistakes when they feel as though something is important and that thing that is important needs to be addressed in as serious manner.

That said, the craunching did indeed take place. It did not deserve the focus that it received, but of course this was not something that could be escaped, for even meaningless actions sometimes get far more focus than necessary.

There is the act of the expenditure of energy in order to achieve the craunching. There would need to be motion that moved through space and time in possibly more than one direction in order to get to the final location which would lead to that which was trodden underfoot firmly and thoroughly craunched. In order to do that, muscles would need to be manipulated in a certain manner so as to make sure that the action was a success, of which they were; thus success was at hand and the foot thoroughly craunched with an efficiency far greater than that of which was to be expected at that particular time of which just so happened to be before twilight. The colour of the sky was moody and the shadows of the forests nearby were drawn long and reaching whilst the action of craunching took place. There was a cool breeze that carried itself through woodlands and out toward places unknown and one person seeking to create some sort of series of actions that required precision and concentration merely acted on the first, most insignificant one and that just so happened to be the one that ended up being the one that was most consumed by those who were in the know of this process series that was happening, though they weren’t to find out until much later, for they were not there during the time of the actions happening. They only found out through the explanation of the actions.

However, the craunching ended up getting more explanation despite its relative lack of importance. It was an action that seemed so complete in its execution and so natural a process. It lacked the thinking that all the other actions required; it was completely reflexive, precise and efficient. It merely ended up the first action in a series of actions purely by happenstance, but it dominated everything following, and not by choice either. It just so happened that that was the way things ended up turning out and there was little that could be done to move that focus to another action.

The time it took to write five-hundred words: 07:49:76

Wonderfully silly writing from a person who needs to rest more than they need to write right now.

I guess if I was writing I needed to write more. Maybe.

Written at home.
