Rest Area at Night

A shot taken almost two years ago whilst at Smiths Lake.

Not sure as to why I didn’t share this shot at the time. Maybe it’s due to not being one of the better shots I took during that field trip. I feel that compared to the others, this shot is average at best.

The current camera body I have was still quite new at the time and I was in a process of learning and unlearning, though realistically that’s always the case when you’re taking photos, I think.

I do like the lighting as it gives a sense of solitude within a small space.

This is my submission into Leanne Cole‘s TPM photo challenge from last week.

The theme for this challenge is “Small old Buildings”.

Part of this rest area is a building which is why I’ve included the shot.
Well, that and the building I tried to capture for the challenge… the shots of it didn’t turn out as well as I thought they would.

I think that, whilst this doesn’t leave too much room for creative thinking, this theme is good as it promotes exploration.

I suggest checking out Leanne’s photography, as well as checking out what other people submit into the challenge.

You can find the challenges here.

I hope you enjoy.
