Five-Hundred Word Challenge 367: Pushing in Front of People in a Line

So the other week I was at uni, heading to work. Waiting for a bus, I was. Well, waiting after walking down a hill, I was.

Anyway, I was waiting. in a line. It would be fair to say that I was waiting in a line to catch a bus in order to get to as close to work as I possibly could in order to get to work, for the day was still young and I was heading to work in order to do my job, which is held at the place in which I work.

I was waiting in line. There was a line. A line there was and in that line I was waiting.

Some person walked up past a few of us waiting and then stood in front of us, taking a position in the line that was not behind us who had been waiting.

The person in front of spoke to the person who thought that they were more important than others who had been waiting. The person said that they didn’t see us there and didn’t know that there was a line. Apparently people standing in a line does not constitute a line.

Now I don’t know about other people, but you do not push into a line. You stand in line and you wait. Argue that it doesn’t matter? Piss off. It does matter. One person pushing into a line may mean that another person has to wait longer due to the bus being at capacity. You are no more or less important than the other people around you. I don’t care as to who yo-u think you are. You  take your spot and you wait. Don’t try to justify your selfish bullshit. Swallow your unearned pride, admit to your mistake and then get in the damn line and wait in your damn spot.

People piss me off. Can’t we all be kind and a little more aware of the people around us? Can’t we all stop pretending that we are the most important thing in the world and are better than everyone else? Can’t we be a little more grounded?

Why do people think that it is okay to be assholes? Very rarely is there justification for shitty behaviour.

I’d like to point out that it was a pretty warm day that day and people had been waiting in what little shade they could get. Someone pushing into a line and then pretending that they didn’t see the line that was clearly there did not go down well. To be fair, it wouldn’t go down well in most circumstances.

People, if yo-u think this is acceptable behaviour, then go learn about etiquette and also learn about not being a selfish asshole I know this is repetition, but the world is bigger than you. You need to realise this and start being a better person. You would piss off less people.

Or continue to be an asshole until someone starts yelling. Your choice.

The time it took to write five-hundred words: 08:26:80

After some senseless rambling, a rant.

It’s okay.

Written at work.

About Stupidity Hole

I'm some guy that does stuff. Hoping to one day fill the internet with enough insane ramblings to impress a cannibal rat ship. I do more than I probably should. I have a page called MS Paint Masterpieces that you may be interested in checking out. I also co-run Culture Eater, an online zine for covering the arts among other things. We're on Patreon!
