The Stars Above Smiths Lake

Here’s a few shots I took on the first night of the field trip.

I like how they turned out and that they’re not as grandiose as most people seem to want astral shots to be, but at the same time they’re a reminder that I need a stronger lens if I want to do this type of photography, which I do.

A fair bit more noise than I had hoped came through, but I still think the pictures work well.

The noise also allows me to work on improving my noise reduction ability.

I think I might have made the exposures too long.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy.

About Stupidity Hole

I'm some guy that does stuff. Hoping to one day fill the internet with enough insane ramblings to impress a cannibal rat ship. I do more than I probably should. I have a page called MS Paint Masterpieces that you may be interested in checking out. I also co-run Culture Eater, an online zine for covering the arts among other things. We're on Patreon!
